]]>Two big derbies in one day, what else can we ask for! Saturday starts with an early kick off between the North London giants, Tottenham and Arsenal, while the day ends at Merseyside, where Everton play host to Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool.
After dropping two points each, Chelsea and City would look forward to get back their momentum. Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea will travel to Villa Park and their latest signing Juan Cuadrado could make his debut for the Blues. Aston Villa are really struggling in front of goal and they’ll be an easy prey for the West Londoners. Manchester City will invite Steve Bruce’s Hull City in need of three vital points. The champions are struggling since the last few weeks and Van Gaal’s United are knocking on the door to challenge them for the second spot.
The fourth placed Southampton FC will face QPR at Loftus Road on Saturday and we can expect that Ronald Koeman’s men will pick up three points against the team, which recently parted ways with their manager, Harry Redknapp. The Saints have a good chance to get back to the third spot as Manchester United have a tough fixture against the Hammers coming up this weekend. United are back to winning ways after dropping points last month. There is a big possibility that Sam Allardyce’s side can hold, if not stun, the Red Devils. West Ham are 13/5 to win the game but not always the betting odds favor the winning team.
But the most interesting and exciting matches this weekend will be at White Hart Lane and Goodison Park. Spurs are doing really well under the new manager, Mauricio Pochettino. The team has now gelled and they are scoring goals for fun. Eriksen has truly established himself at the club and he is downright lethal with his free kicks. Also, Harry Kane has been a breath of fresh air for the Londoners. He is banging goals without much problem. He has scored 20 goals in 33 appearances for Spurs this season. On the other hand, Arsenal have got their midfield maestro, Mesut Ozil back from injury. The World Cup winner seems to be in fine form and he’ll be a great boost for the side which will miss the services of Alexis Sanchez this Saturday. Arsenal are favorites to win this tie at Spurs’ home ground and the odds of it are 11/10.
Everton vs Liverpool will be yet another classic match this week. The intense rivalry between these two clubs makes their matches a lot more interesting. The Toffees are clearly struggling this season as they have slumped to the twelfth spot, while Liverpool are getting back in form after stuttering in the start of the season. The five-time European champions are playing really well and we can expect them to pick up three points this weekend. According to Bet365, Liverpool are 7/5 to win the game, while Everton are 9/5. Draw: 12/5.

Things are heating up in the Premier League as we have already reached the 22nd week.
Okay, time to own up now, did you bet against an Arsenal win at the Etihad on Sunday? We’re sorry if you did. Arsene Wenger’s men won against all odds as Santi Cazorla and Giroud scored a goal each. According to Bet365, Arsenal were 10/3 to win the game against Manchester City, whereas the Citizens were 4/5 to beat the visitors.
This weeks games will be remembered for the one where most of the away teams clinched three points. In seven matches out of nine the home teams lost, including the reigning champions Manchester City. Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea were the biggest winners of the weekend as they regained their five point advantage at the top of the table. The West Londoners defeated Swansea City and the score after ninety minutes was 0 – 5. Not a shocking result, as Chelsea were 8/15 to win the game against Gary Monk’s side. Pellegrini’s City have a chance to close the gap when they face the league leaders at Stamford Bridge in fifteen days.
Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool are getting back in the race for the Champions League spot. With the victory over Aston Villa, the Merseyside giants have now won four of their last six games and drawn two. Their fiercest rivals, Manchester United also picked up three points as Fellaini inspired Van Gaal’s men to a win against QPR. The young striker, James Wilson, also got his first goal of this campaign. United were 3/5 to win the game against Harry Redknapp’s team, according to Bet365.
Tottenham and West Ham were the only teams to pick up points at their respective home stadiums. Spurs won 2 – 1against Sunderland, whereas West Ham defeated Hull City, keeping a clean sheet and scoring three goals. Ronald Koeman’s Southampton now seem to be serious contenders for the Champions League spot. The Saints beat Newcastle away from home to stay two points clear of Manchester United and keeping a grip on the third position.
Surprisingly, there haven’t been any draws in this weeks games as Stoke City and Crystal Palace got their victories over Leicester and Burnley respectively. All these stories were of the eighteen teams of the English league, as two (Everton and West Brom) are yet to play a game on Monday night at Goodison Park. Everton are 4/5 to win. Draw: 13/5. West Brom win: 7/2.

]]>The post Football Bets Explained – Betting On Match Results appeared first on FootyBetter.
]]>So here we we are going to give a basic rundown of the types of bets you can make when betting on match results.
Thfull time result is a very simple bet on which you are betting on which team will go on to win the match (you can also bet on whether it will finish a draw). The teams that are playing at Home are often shorter odds favourites – unless the Away team is very strong football team and depending what leagues you bet in.
Typical Odds | |
---|---|
Team A win | 10/11 |
Draw | 9/4 |
Team B win | 3/1 |
The double chance football bet can give you two opportunities to win out of the 3 outcomes that are possible. As you are covering more outcomes the odds will be naturally lower than when betting on Match Results. You can choose to either back a team to win AND for the match to be a Draw or if you can bet on both teams in the game to win and there not be a draw.
Typical Odds | |
---|---|
Team A and the Draw | 1/5 |
Team B and the Draw | 5/6 |
Team A or Team B | 2/7 |
This is jsut a very straight forward win/lose bet – If the match ends in a draw the bet will be void.
Typical Odds | |
---|---|
Team A | 4/11 |
Team B | 2/1 |
Handicaps can be useful for creating a betting opportunity when it would not really normally exist – You can do this by either making two teams more even, or by getting better odds on low-priced favourites. Handicap bets can be applied to Goals and Corners – the football team with a ‘negative’ handicap will have to overcome their deficit in order for the bet to win.
Example:
If a strong football team were awarded a (-2) handicap against a weaker football team – The stronger football team would have to win the match by at least 3 goals.
Team A (minus 1) | 5/2 |
---|---|
Team B (plus 1) | 13/5 |
Tie (Team B plus 1) | 5/6 |
Just as with the match result bet you can also bet on who will be winning at the end of the first half.
Team A | 6/4 |
---|---|
Draw | 6/5 |
Team B | 7/2 |
The half time/full time bet lets you bet on both the half time result and the full time result. The odds are naturally much higher as its twice as hard to pick both bets right.
Team A – Team A | 15/8 |
---|---|
Team A – Draw | 16/1 |
Team A – Team B | 40/1 |
Draw – Team A | 7/2 |
Draw – Draw | 4/1 |
Draw – Team B | 8/1 |
Team B – Team A | 28/1 |
Team B – Draw | 16/1 |
Team B – Team B | 13/2 |

]]>The post Football Bets Explained – Betting On Bookings/Cards appeared first on FootyBetter.
]]>Betting on the number of bookings in a football match can be a great way of making consistent profits, if you know your teams. More often than not football teams play in a distinct style and character, and this often stays pretty consistent, no matter how well they are doing in the actual match.
Teams that play aggressively such as Hull City, will naturally pick up a lot of bookings through out the game, regardless of form or if they are winning or losing. This collection of Yellow and Red cards can offer the punter a certain degree of consistency which is what we all like in the betting world.
Many of the online bookmakers use a similar points system, but there are variations.
For example most will use the system below –
Yellow Card = 10 points
Red Card = 25 points
But Bet365 for example use the following points system –
Yellow Card = 1 card
Red Card = 2 cards
If you are betting on the total booking points of a match then you are betting on the total number of points that are accumulated by both football teams that are playing.
The marker will in most cases be between the 30 and 50 level.
This is a simple bet on the total number of bookings being above, below, or exactly on the marker.
Under 35 5/6
Over 35 5/6
(Exactly 35 6/1)
You could also see it displayed in sections like the example below. Some bookmakers prefer to offer it like this which does restrict the bets, but they normally offer better odds.
Under 21 11/5
21 – 45 2/1
Over 46 11/10
Some online bookmakers prefer to just accept bets solely on the number of cards issued throughout the game. This includes both Yellow and Red cards, and once again cards are counted from both teams.
The marker will in most cases be between 3.5 and 5.5, and you can bet either over or under.
For Example
Under 3.5 5/6
Over 3.5 5/6
Just like when you are betting on corners you can also bet on which team will be the first to receive a booking card, whether it be a Yellow or Red. There is usually also the option to bet on no cards being issued throughout the match.
For Example
Team A 21/20
Team B 4/5
No Cards 12/1
Another popular bet is betting on which team will receive the most cards.
For Example
Team A 5/6
Team B 8/11
Tie 4/1
Betting on the number of bookings/cards that are given out in a football match is a very popular bet amongst football punters, and for good reason. If you know your teams well or are confident in reading stats and compiling information, there is definitely money to be made and consistent profits to be gained.

]]>The post Football Bets Explained – Multiples/Accumulators appeared first on FootyBetter.
]]>Betting on accumulators (also known as multiples) is one of the favourite bets for football punters, and for good reason. While many of the odds for your selections might be low, when combined together they can improve your odds exponentially, with the more tiers you have on your bet.
An accumulator bet is when at least 4 of your bets are linked together. This bet is then dependent on all selections winning to pay out on any money. If a bet has 2 or 3 selections then it is called a double or treble, but behaves in exactly the same way as an accumulator bet does.
Multiples and accumulators are common bets for many football punters because the pay-outs are so much higher than placing single bets, but of course the your chances of all selections winning are much lower. Accumulator bet payouts can be massive for a very small outlay.
Below we have listed the main types of multiples bets
Double – A double is a bet consisting of two selections – both selections must win to pay out.
Treble – A treble is a bet consisting of three selections – all selections must win to pay out.
Accumulator –An accumulator is a bet consisting of four or more selections – all selections must win to pay out.
Number of selections | Bet Name |
---|---|
2 | Double |
3 | Treble |
4 | Four-Fold Accumulator |
5 | Five-Fold Accumulator |
6 | Six-Fold Accumulator |
7 | Seven-Fold Accumulator |
8 | Eight-Fold Accumulator |
A full cover bet is when all possible bets are placed such as doubles, trebles and accumulators.
With many full cover bets you need a minimum of two selections to win to get a pay out.
A full cover bet with a single is exactly that. Is when all possible bets are placed such as doubles, trebles and accumulators including singles on every selection.
With full cover bets with singles you only need 1 selection to win to get a return.
Here we will list the most common full cover bets offered by most bookmakers:
Trixie
A bet on three selections
Consisting of four separate bets: 3 doubles and a treble.
Yankee
A bet on four selections

Heinz
A bet on six selections
Consisting of 57 separate bets: 15 doubles, 20 trebles, 15 fourfolds, 6 fivefolds and a sixfold accumulator.
Named after the 57 different varieties of Heinz.
Super Heinz
A bet on seven selections
Consisting of 120 separate bets: 21 doubles, 35 trebles, 35 fourfolds, 21 fivefolds, 7 sixfolds and a sevenfold accumulator.
Goliath
A wager on eight selections and consisting of 247 separate bets: 28 doubles, 56 trebles, 70 fourfolds, 56 fivefolds, 28 sixfolds, 8 sevenfolds and an eightfold accumulator. A minimum two selections must win to gain a return.
Here we will list the most common full cover bets with singles offered by most bookmakers –
Patent
A bet on three selections
Consisting of 7 separate bets: 3 singles, 3 doubles and a treble.
Equivalent to a Trixie plus 3 singles.
Lucky 15

Many of the top online bookmakers will now let you watch live football matches, even the big games, online, and in many cases, for free. This is a big deal, especially if the game is not on TV or you don’t have Sky, or if your wife is watching the one millionth episode of Coronation Street at the same time.
This can offer a completely different perspective to your betting, especially when betting in play. You can watch live streams of football matches from around the world, all while betting at the same time. What could be better than that?
Below we will list the BEST bookmaker sites to watch football on for FREE!
Yes you can – It is not just football you can watch online for free. Here is a selection of some of the other sporting events that can be streamed online:
Tennis, Horse Racing, Greyhound Racing, Volleyball, Snooker, Basketball, Darts, Cricket, Ice Hockey, Rugby League, Bowls, Handball and many more.
Yes and no – Most of these sites will require you to at least have an account with them, but that costs you nothing. Some will require you to have made at least one deposit with them, and some will even require that you place a bet on the match you want to watch, but a 50p bet to watch your team play is nothing in the bigger scheme of things. Last, but not least, as you will be logging onto an online bookmakers site, you will need to be over 18 to create an account.
How to watch the Live Streaming
To watch live football on Bet365.com you must have an account with them, and you must have either placed a bet in the last 24 hours on any sport, or have a funded account. An easy way to watch live football would be to keep just £5 in credit on the site at all times.

Bet365 Verdict
This is in my opinion the best site for live streaming of all sports, especially football. These guys are way ahead of the rest in usability, and you do not even have to place a bet on the football match or sports event you are watching.

How to watch the Live Streaming
To watch live football on PaddyPower you must have an account with them, and you must have made at least one deposit at any time in the past, and that is all. This is completely free football viewing.

PaddyPower Verdict
The best thing about the online PaddyPower football streaming service is it is completely free. So long as you have an account and have deposited to it at least once, you can watch as much football as you like.
——————–
How to watch the Live Streaming
To watch live football on William Hill you must have an account with them. Most sports streams are free to watch apart from horse racing, where you have to bet at least £5 to watch the race.

£25 Free bets for new customers
William Hill Verdict
William Hill offer the same standards as most and it is worth creating an account to have access to the football streams available, and again it is currently free to watch the football.
——————–
How to watch the Live Streaming
To watch live football on Ladbrokes you must have an account with them, and must have deposited at least once since the account was opened.
Sign up offer
£25 Free bets for new customers
Ladbrokes Verdict
Ladbrokes offer all their users free live football streaming from some of the biggest football leagues around the world, and is another one not to be ignored.
Note on watching live football streams provided by online bookmakers
I would recommend joining all these sites and making at least one deposit to get the maximum full coverage of football games possible.
Some live stream offerings won’t be available because of licensing restrictions, and so won’t be available to those in certain countries.
For example, certain leagues are licensed to television channels in certain countries, so the online bookmakers will not be allowed to stream them matches, but they will be streamed in other countries where they are not licensed.

]]>The competition began in 1996 and there are 34 games played in a season, which runs from March to October each year.
The league consists of 19 teams (U.S.A. 16 and Canada 3) and falls under the CONCACAF authority.
Each season the teams play for the Supporters Shield, awarded to the team with the best home and away record, the MLS Cup, which is decided in a postseason playoff, and the right to participate in the CONCACAF Champions League.
The most Supporters’ Shields won by a side is 4 (won by D.C. United & LA Galaxy), while the most MLS Cups won by a side is also 4 (once again, D.C. United & LA Galaxy).
Well known players to have played in the MLS include David Beckham, Robbie Keane, Thierry Henry, Tim Cahill, Rafael Marquez and Landon Donovan.
Recently the owners of Manchester City have announced the establishment of their own MLS club, New York City FC, and have signed English international Frank Lampard and Spanish international David Villa take part, while another new club, Orlando City SC, has already signed Brazilian international Kaka to play for them in 2005.
Ex-English international David Beckham has been making MLS news recently with his attempt to form a team playing out of Miami, Florida. It remains to be seen whether this team will eventuate and what part Beckham will play in it.
The USA’s recent admirable performance in the 2014 World Cup has also helped garner interest in the MLS. Finishing second in a tough group consisting of Germany, Ghana and Portugal, the national team went on to play in the Round of 16, losing out there to Belgium 2-1.
With 21 current or soon to be MLS players taking part in the 2014 World Cup, Major League Soccer is a competition on the rise.
