Following on from Manchester United’s shock 4-0 defeat to MK Dons on Tuesday, another two high profile English Premier League teams have been eliminated from the England football league cup overnight.
Queens Park Rangers continued their horror start to the season, going down to fourth tier team Burton Albion 1-0 away, through a free kick taken by Adam McGruk in the 77th minute.
QPR will need to regroup quickly as they face Sunderland at home on Saturday, where they will need points if they hope to get off the bottom of the EPL ladder.
Aston Villa became the third high profile team to be eliminated when they lost out to third tier team Leyton Orient 1-0. Romain Vincelot took the win for Leyton in the 87th minute, shooting in to the bottom right of the goal after receiving from a corner kick.
A disappointing result for Villa at home, and they now look forward to their Premier League fixture on Sunday at home against Hull City.
