World Cup 2014 Tips

Brazil meet Germany today at the 2014 World Cup, at the Estadio Mineirao in Belo Horizonte.

Form

The two sides have met 21 times before, with Brazil winning 12 games, Germany winning 4 games, and there being 5 played out draws. In total the two teams have scored 63 goals against each other.

Brazil defeated Colombia  2-1 in their Quarter Final fixture.

Germany defeated France 1-0 in their Quarter Final fixture.

Injuries & Suspensions

Brazil will be without superstar forward Neymar who is out of the tournament with a fractured vertebra, and their captain Thiago Silva will be missing after an incident in the match against Colombia. Germany continue without Shkodran Mustafi who suffered a thigh problem against Algeria, while defender Per Mertesacker has been stricken with the flu that has seen a lot of the team suffer, and will undergo a test pre-match.

Prediction & Tip

Brazil have not lost a game at home in their last 41 matches, a very scary statistic indeed, and their manager Luiz Felipe Scolari has not lost a World Cup match with Brazil at all, and was coach the last time they won the World Cup in 2002. Germany are a perennial powerhouse, and will need to be at their best here to defeat the home side and their extremely parochial fans. Of note, German striker Miroslav Klose is one goal away from becoming the all-time top scorer in the history of the World Cup, currently tied at 15 goals with Brazilian legend Ronaldo. History and fame awaits the winner here, with the 2014 World Cup trophy being only one more win away after tonight. We think Germany might get the win in extra time, so will take the 21/10 that Ladbrokes are offering for a 90 minute draw.

Germany defeat Brazil 1-0
