Who Will Make It Through To The Final 16? 2014 World Cup. Our Tips. Part 1.

World Cup 2014 Tips

Today we’ll have a look at Groups A to D, and give our tips on which teams will progress to the round of 16.

Group A – Brazil, Cameroon, Croatia, Mexico.

Brazil should safely romp through this group, and we’ll tip Croatia to join them as well, though Mexico may provide some resistance along the way.

Group B – Australia, Chile, Holland, Spain.

Spain with their recent big tournament form will be the hot favourite to progress here, with Holland and Chile to fight out it for the second spot. It could go either way, but if Holland play to their ability, they should go through to the second round.

Group C – Colombia, Greece, Ivory Coast, Japan.

Colombia have been traveling along nicely for a while now, and should make it through this group, especially as  they’ll be playing in  South America. The second spot is up for grabs is going to be a very interesting affair, with Ivory Coast and Japan both having different football styles. As Asia’s top team we feel Japan can make through, perhaps on goal difference.

Group D – Costa Rica, England, Italy, Uruguay.

Italy have the historical pedigree to make it through here, though recent form makes picking the top two of this group quite difficult. English fans will be hoping to see a solid effort from their regenerating team, but will it be enough? As mentioned, a tough pick, but if all teams play to their potential, then Italy should go through, and Costa Rica, benefiting from playing on their home continent, will join them.
