Today’s Rumours From The Premier League

Our newshounds have been out and about today and rounded up all of the latest Premier League transfer rumours.

Arsenal are considering a play for midfielder Douglas Costa of Shakhtar Donetsk. This comes after they missed out on Juan Quintero of Porto.

Chelsea may be fending of an attacking raid by Real Madrid on their goalkeeping stocks. Petr Cech and Thibault Courtois are apparently the intended targets, though one wonders whether might be more than a little jest in this rumour.

Action aplenty at Anfield as Liverpool defender Daniel Agger has asked for permission to leave the club and head to Barcelona. Brendan Roger’s will need to be on his game as Rafael Benitez apparently has his eye on midfielder Lucas Leiva.

Still at Porto, Manchester City is set to welcome defender and French International Eliaquim Mangala from that club.

Manchester United’s shopping spree is about to begin with a whole bunch of rumours swirling around the club. Their much discussed defence might be about to receive an overhaul with Thomas Vermaelen of Arsenal looking likely to join, and Man U in the mix to sign Roma defender Mehdi Benatia as well, though they’ll have to beat off Chelsea and Real Madrid in the race to collect his signature.

Still at United, Midfielder Fredy Guarin of Inter Milan is one player that has been green lighted should Man U decide to pick him up.

Newcastle United midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa is getting homesick and has his eye on a return to France.

Swansea is looking to bolster their central defence with the acquisition of Napoli defender Federico Fernandez.

Tottenham are trying to manufacture a deal in order to secure PSV winger Memphis Depay. A sum of money and Belgium International Nacer Chadli are the terms that they’re offering as a trade.

West Bromwich is still in the market despite already making eight new signings so far.

West Ham has apparently made an enquiry to Stoke about the availability of Peter Crouch, but has been scared off at the asking price.
