World Cup 2014 Tips

France meet Nigeria today at the 2014 World Cup, at the Estadio Nacional in Brasilia.

The two sides have met once before, with Nigeria securing a 1-0 victory over France.

France opened up their 2014 World Cup with a 3-0 win over Honduras, before registering a 5-2 win over Switzerland, and a 0-0 draw against Ecuador.

Injuries & Suspensions

French midfield player Johan Cabaye will return after serving a suspension, while defender Mamadou Sakho is in doubt due to a thigh injury sustained in the game against Ecuador. Nigerian winger Michael Babatunde suffered a fractured wristin their match against Argentina and will miss this fixture, while the versatile Victor Moses may be available again following a muscle complaint.

Prediction & Tip

Everything seems to be progressing nicely for France who scored 8 goals in their first two games, before registering a 0-0 draw against Ecuador in their final first round game. Nigeria have had some internal strife with the players in disagreement with their governing body over match payments, and will need to be fully focused here if they are to get a result. We see France as being too strong for Nigeria, and will take the 6/1 that Ladbrokes are offering for a 2-0 France win.
