Today we preview the Premier League match taking place between Manchester City and Liverpool at Etihad Stadium, Manchester, on Monday 25 August 2014.
Liverpool had a famous 3-2 victory in the last meeting of these two teams in April this year, nearing the completion of the 2013/2104 Premier League season, but Man City had the form over the Reds before that fixture.
Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo is unlikely to be in today’s squad due to injury.
Liverpool have a host of injury concerns which include Daniel Agger, Oussama Assaidi , Jon Flanagan and Adam Lallana.
Defending champions Manchester City enter this season as favourites to retain their title, and rightfully so, with their squad remaining largely intact.
Liverpool went very close to taking the title last season, and their squad appears to of been marginally strengthened since then, even with the loss of star striker Louis Suarez to Barcelona.
Prediction and Tip
Despite losing out to Arsenal in the pre-season Community Shield, we feel that Manchester City are legitimate title favourites this season, and will back them at 5/6 to take the win here.
