Premier League Football – Week 27 Review

Premier League Football – Week 26 Review

Only eight games in this Premier League game week as Chelsea and Spurs will head for the Capital One Cup showdown on Saturday. Can Harry Kane inspire the North Londoners to another victory over the Blues? The history suggests that Jose Mourinho’s side will win the silverware of this campaign.

In the league, the big match this weekend will be played on Sunday as Liverpool host the English champions, Manchester City at Anfield. Last year’s top two have a mountain to climb this season in order to achieve their goals. City are currently five points behind the league leaders, Chelsea, while Brendan Rodgers’ side is two points behind the fourth placed, Manchester United. In their previous meeting in the league this season, the Citizens got ahead and won 3 – 1.

Another interesting match at the weekend will be between Arsenal and Everton at the Emirates. Everton are clearly struggling this season and they’ll have to work very hard to get back to the top half of the table. The Gunners, on the other hand, have reached the third position on the table and with such an intense race for top four they’ll have to be bring their A-game unlike what they did in the midweek against AS Monaco. Van Gaal’s Manchester United are breathing down their neck and there will be a lot of movement in the table until the end of the season. The record English champions are 9/1 to lose the game on Saturday.

The Red Devils have a home fixture this weekend and they’ll look forward to bounce back from the defeat against Swansea City. Sunderland are the visitors on Saturday and they are certainly not pushovers. We can expect them to pick up all three points as they have had a great record at Old Trafford this season.

West Brom will be hosting Southampton and the odds of Saints winning at the weekend are 5/4, according to Bet365.

The other matches in this game week and the respective odds are:

West Ham vs Crystal Palace (West Ham win – 21/20, Draw – 12/5, Crystal Palace win – 11/4)

Burnley vs Swansea City ( Burnley win – 8/5, Draw – 23/10, Swansea win – 7/4 )

Newcastle United vs Aston Villa ( Newcastle win – 19/20, Draw – 5/2, Aston Villa win – 3/1 )

Stoke City vs Hull City ( Stoke win – 19/20, Draw – 23/10, Hull win – 16/5)
